The story

The house was built in 1913 for William G. Raymond, professor of civil engineering and dean of the College of Applied Science at the State University of Iowa. The Brown Street district nomination groups it with the street’s gambrel cottages and records the many university faculty who lived along the brick-paved street. Today it is a four-room bed and breakfast.
