The story
The two-story brick building at 61 Main Street appears in the 1980 Bisbee district inventory as the B.P.O.E. (Elks) Building of 1910, designed by Copper Queen architect F.C. Hurst, with arched second-story windows, French doors and metal balconies. The Bisbee Grand operates it as a hotel, saloon and music venue, and says the business was established in 1906.
The ghost story
A ghost-tour listing on Visit Arizona, the state tourism site, says numerous tales tell of spectral ladies in Victorian dress and apparitions wandering the hotel's upper floors; Legends of America describes them as quiet ghosts, with male spirits seen downstairs and female spirits upstairs.
