The story
Dr. Oliver Ormsby, who came to Logan in 1877 as the valley’s first college-trained physician and founded the Pioneer Drug Store, built the large brick Victorian house with its walled terrace. It became the home of musician and businessman George W. Thatcher, a grandson of Brigham Young, his wife Emily Jean Crimson Thatcher and their daughter Patience. The Inn on Center Street, Logan’s original themed bed and breakfast, grew around the Thatcher Mansion and neighboring buildings; Rich Bennion bought it in 2003 and added the ‘Gingerbread House’ in 2005.
