The story
Murray Jones Murray designed the eleven-story City Hall Tower, finished about 1969 as part of a Civic Center planned since 1924 and funded by bonds voted in 1952. City government left in 2007 for a former Williams Communications building. TOCH LLC converted the tower, and Starwood announced the 180-room Aloft’s opening on June 17, 2013. News On 6 reported that the developers kept the original marble walls and terrazzo floors.
