The story
The Continental Hotel Company, headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, built the three-story hotel in 1929 to serve as a luxury hotel and social and civic center for Harrison. It is wood-framed with brick and terra-cotta veneer in the Spanish Revival style, and the NRHP nomination found it largely intact apart from a partially enclosed entrance porch. Today it has a restaurant and bar, a grand ballroom and covered parking.
