The story
The mansion facing Central Park was built for the Houston family in the 1880s and previously operated as the Inn at the Park bed and breakfast (same address in meeting-venue directories); the old innatthepark.com domain is now listed for sale. Its eight suites are split between the main house and a carriage house. In 2025 a great-granddaughter of the builder told NY1 she had not known the house still stood and was a B&B. Tripadvisor’s 2025 and 2026 Travelers’ Choice awards named it the No. 1 B&B and inn in the United States.
