The story
Mount Nebo was a resort town before it was a park, with hotels including the Summit Park Hotel, which burned in 1918. In the early 1930s the CCC used the mountain’s logs and stone to build trails, a pavilion and rustic cabins on the bluff for overnight visitors. The state says Cabin 1 was the first cabin rental in state park history.
