The story

W. D. Wadsworth, a prominent commercial builder, built the four-story limestone hotel with a brick facade and a two-story ornate iron balcony on Spring Street. It opened as the Wadsworth Hotel, whose Wellington Bar operated before Prohibition, then became the Allred Hotel in 1908 and the Springs Hotel in 1948. Gale Reeves bought it in 1954 and renamed it the New Orleans Hotel.
