The story
Whaling merchant Jared Coffin built the three-story brick mansion in 1845, one of the original mansions of downtown Nantucket. It is now part of White Elephant Resorts. In 2020 the hotel had 30 rooms in the mansion and 13 next door in the Daniel Webster House, and it added four suites and a guest room that year.
