The story
German immigrant H. H. Wallman, a shoemaker who supplied Nashville’s elite, built the brick townhouse in 1865, and the Wallman family kept it into the mid-1900s. Entrepreneurs Phil Hyde and Jim Creason bought it in 2015 and, after a year-long restoration that kept the original brick, interior walls and fireplaces, opened it as a six-room inn in December 2016. A Carriage House added four suites in 2018. The EF3 tornado of March 3, 2020 tore off part of the roof and closed the inn for four months.
