The story
Saints Peter and Paul church, school, convent and rectory first opened in the Marigny in the early 1860s; Henry Howard designed the church and rectory in 1860. A convent followed in 1890 and a schoolhouse by Diboll & Owen in 1900, where the Marianite Sisters of the Holy Cross taught until the school closed in 1993; the church closed in 2001. After a four-year restoration, ASH NYC and New Orleans developer Nathalie Jordi reopened the complex as a 71-room hotel.
