The story

Lead built this hall in 1912 for the mayor’s and treasurer’s offices, the court room, judge’s chambers and the jail, and it served as town hall until 1938. The Homestake Mining Company then used it as general offices for nearly 50 years. The guest suites keep the old uses in their names, such as the Mayor’s Office, Jury Room and Municipal Judge’s Chamber. The hotel calls itself listed on the National Register; the listing is through the Lead Historic District. Second-floor suites are stairs only.
