The story

Home Builders Inc. built the building, and it opened in 1919 as El Beudor, a luxury apartment house with hotel-style service and 110 furnished units, named by company secretary Cassius Clay Shimer for his three daughters. Hotel magnate Eugene Eppley bought it in the late 1920s and renamed it the Logan; in 1956 the Sheraton chain took it over with the rest of the Eppley hotels, and it became the Sherwyn. It later stood vacant and was scheduled for demolition in 2016–17 until preservationists intervened. Logan Hospitality acquired it in 2019, NGC Group renovated it, and it opened in 2022 as a 90-room Hotel Indigo, with offices and top-floor condominiums in the same building.
