The story
George Siedhoff developed the eight-story hotel, designed by Ed Forsblom, on the east bank of the Arkansas River, completing it in 1922. A two-bay addition followed in 1929. KSHS places it in a line of well-known Wichita hotels with the Occidental, the Eaton and the Allis. Drury says the hotel hosted Franklin D. Roosevelt and that its renovation kept a mosaic mural by Blackbear Bosin.
