The story

The building’s past tenants included the Indian Silk Shop, Curios and Pickens Ready-to-Wear, and a J.C. Penney before the Drummonds bought it. Ree and Ladd Drummond renovated it into an eight-room hotel near their Pioneer Woman Mercantile; it opened in 2018 and early bookings sold out quickly. Two old murals for Puryear’s Drug Store were kept, one in the room called Drugstore. The nomination says the Osage Mercantile next door was the closest place to spend the oil royalty payments dispensed from the bandstand on the Triangle site.
