The story

Earl Palmer Harwell came to Oklahoma from Texas in 1906 and co-founded the McMan Oil and Gas Company, sold in 1916 to Magnolia Petroleum for a reported $39 million. He hired the Kansas City firm Wight and Wight in 1923 to design a 30-room English Tudor house above the Arkansas River. After Mrs. Harwell’s death the house went to the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa. The site says it was historically restored in 2019.
