The story
Max Campbell built the block-long building in 1927 as the Casa Loma Hotel, with 36 guest rooms over ground-floor shops. Route 66 was realigned along 11th Street in 1932, which put the hotel on the highway. Group M Investment bought it in 2008 and restored it, and it reopened in 2011 with 26 themed rooms.
