The story

The inn began as a ten-room bed and breakfast in the Hall-Ford House, which the nomination describes as a very large raised Gulf Coast cottage of 1836 with fluted Doric porch columns. It has grown into nine restored historic properties across Fort Condé Village, one of Mobile’s oldest neighborhoods. The village fell into disrepair before New York developers Lawrence and David Posner bought it and restored it over more than two decades. Bistro Saint Emanuel opened in 2022 in an 1850s building that the inn says was first run by Corsican immigrant Charles Antomarchi.

The ghost story

Visit Mobile reports that guests have heard clawing sounds near the floor and that some have seen furniture move on its own.
