The story
Percy and Annabel Goan built the Dude Rancher in 1950, meant to evoke a frontier cabin or ranch and to express their love of the Old West. The two-story U-shaped motel faces North 29th Street. Nearly all of its interior survives, including knotty pine walls, ranch-style furniture and specially commissioned carpets. The National Register cites it as a fine local example of Ranch-style architecture.
