The story

Welsh immigrant and pioneer Robert Vaughn built the Arvon Block in 1890, six months after Montana statehood, combining a livery stable, a teamsters’ rooming house and a grocery under one roof, and named it for his daughter. The hotel calls it the oldest commercial building in Great Falls. Vacant and slated for demolition in 2010, it was bought by the Jennings family, who rehabilitated it over four years with historic tax credits. It now houses the hotel and the Celtic Cowboy pub.
