The story
Built in 1912, the Madison is the only early hotel left in West Yellowstone. Its six original rooms were warmed by a cut-stone lobby fireplace, each with a pitcher, wash basin and chamber pot, and water came from a well across the street. An expansion in 1921 added fourteen rooms, a bar and a dance floor. Log columns, wood floors, light fixtures and many furnishings are original.
