The story
Native peoples used the 112-degree springs long before miners stopped to bathe here. Percie and Bill Knowles inherited the property in 1894, ran a boardinghouse for miners and built the hotel in 1900, drawing guests such as Teddy Roosevelt and Charlie Russell. After Bill died in 1910, Percie and her son Radbourne made it a respected medical facility. Mike and Eve Art began restoring the resort in 1976.
The ghost story
Yellowstone Country's tourism office reports that Percie Knowles, wife of the original owner, is said to grace the historic hotel, with guards reporting a rocking chair, perfume and a woman by the lobby piano.
