The story

The house was built in 1870 for David and Elizabeth Lamberson on the hillside above downtown Galena. It keeps heart-pine and hardwood floors, carved woodwork, leaded glass and an original tiled fireplace with a hand-carved mantel. The current innkeepers are its eleventh owners and run it as a four-room bed and breakfast with a three-course breakfast.
