The story

The two-story brick building on McGregor’s Main Street housed the North Iowa Times, the town’s first newspaper (established 1856), from at least 1894 to about 1930. It keeps parts of its cast-iron storefront and a roofed second-floor balcony like others in the district. ‘Aunt Sadie’s Cabin’, a log cabin built in 1842 at Wexford, was moved here and rebuilt in 1986 as an overnight suite. The inn is family-run in its second generation and includes Sadie’s Sweet Shop.
