The story
Architect Electus D. Litchfield won the design competition, but Arthur Bohn of Vonnegut & Bohn supervised design and construction for the Chicago firm Holabird & Roche. The 16-story tower served as an office building until 1992, when its last commercial tenant, Bank One, moved out. It reopened as the Ramada Waterbury hotel in 1996 and, after a 2003 renovation, as a Hilton Garden Inn.
