The story
The Terry House at 130 Delaware Street is a brick, three-story, three-bay townhouse of about 1860 in the late-Federal/Greek Revival style, with a cut sandstone water table, linked chimneys on each end wall and a deep corbelled brick cornice. Its two-story rear wing carries a two-tier wooden gallery. It stands in the colonial core of New Castle, whose historic center was designated a National Historic Landmark district in 1967 and re-documented for the National Register in 1984, when the house was recorded as a contributing building. It was operating as a bed-and-breakfast by 2015 and now takes direct bookings as the ‘Terryhouse Boutique Hotel’.
