The story
Pabst Brewing Company built its Kansas City distribution depot at 2101 Central in 1911, one of the brewery and warehouse buildings of the Crossroads freight district; a four-story Pabst warehouse next door followed in 1917. The nomination notes the brick building retains its original integrity apart from one infilled window. The hotel ties the building to Prohibition-era political boss Tom Pendergast and names its top suite for him. Michelin awarded it a One Key, which the hotel says was a first for Missouri.
