The story
The 25-story Lennox Hotel opened on September 2, 1929, the city’s tallest hotel at the time, designed by Preston J. Bradshaw with terra cotta facades. It was the last downtown hotel built before the Depression; another did not open downtown until 1963. After closing in the 1970s it reopened in 2002 as the Renaissance St. Louis Suites, closed again in 2011 after foreclosure, and reopened on September 2, 2015 as a Courtyard by Marriott after a $15 million renovation.
