The story
The brick New Redmond Hotel was built in 1928 after fire destroyed the original Redmond Hotel, and it remained a commercial hotel and downtown landmark for decades. Soul Community Planet reopened it in fall 2019 after a two-year, $7 million renovation done in partnership with the City of Redmond, adding a rooftop bar. The project won Restore Oregon’s DeMuro Award for historic preservation in 2020.
