The story

The gold-rush-era brick building on California Street went up in 1861; the inn says flecks of gold can still be seen in its walls. Today it has eight renovated rooms, a restaurant and the Gold Room cocktail lounge, and the rooms are managed by Stay Rogue with self check-in. The town of Jacksonville has been a National Historic Landmark district since 1966.
