The story
The building opened in 1909 as an expansion of the 1894 Imperial Hotel next door. When the two buildings were split into separate hotels at the end of 1949, this one kept the Imperial name. Aspen Hotel Group bought and remodeled it in 2002 as the Hotel Lucia, known for its photography collection. It was listed on the National Register in 2003.
