The story

Built in 1871, two years after Ocean Grove was founded, the Lillagaard stands steps from the beach and boardwalk. It has 20 guest rooms, three oversized ocean-view porches, a restaurant serving cooked breakfast, and an ice cream shop. As the inn notes, the town around it was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
