The story

Peter Conn built the stone building at the corner of North Main and St. Paul Streets in the 1790s as The Eagle hotel. After his death in the 1820s it changed hands many times; by the end of the 19th century it was the Commercial Hotel, and in the late 1930s it became The Boone Hotel. Restored as Inn BoonsBoro, a luxury bed and breakfast with eight guest rooms, it marked its 15th anniversary in 2024.
