The story
The land was part of a large grant from Lord Baltimore, and HHA dates the original property to 1902, noting its past as a farm, a resort and a Hollywood film set for The First Kiss, one of the last films of the silent era. The hotel reopened in May 2023 after a renovation of more than $10 million covering the original building, other structures and the grounds; the property now also has four waterfront cottages. HHA admitted it in 2025.
