About Historic Inns

Historic Inns is an independent guide to the historic hotels, inns and B&Bs of America that are worth the trip: the story of each building, where it sits, and how to book a room.

This address has been on the web since 1996, when it was home to a group of Napa Valley inns. We are rebuilding it as a national guide, one destination at a time, starting with Savannah and St. Augustine.

What makes a listing

Every inn we list is at least 50 years old, carries a historic credential we can verify, and takes bookings today. We cite our sources on every page and show when each listing was last checked. Read our standards.

Corrections

Old buildings collect conflicting stories. If you know a date, a name or a detail we have wrong, email [email protected] and we will check it against the record and fix it.
