The story
Earnest Kennedy designed the brick Andrews Building, which went up in 1897 as a store and agricultural-implement warehouse in the rail-served Warehouse District; a plainer fifth story was added in 1899. The district nomination notes its original Washington Avenue storefront and the Gothic brick arches over the fourth-floor windows. The building was adapted into the Hewing Hotel in 2016, keeping its timber beams and brick walls, and the hotel was refreshed in 2026.
