The story
Contractor R. H. Dickinson built the three-story Queen Anne house in 1902 for Morris Harvey (1821-1908), a Confederate veteran and one of Fayette County’s leading citizens. An 800-gallon copper cistern on the upper floor collected roof rainwater, and the nomination calls it the first house in the area with indoor plumbing. It served as a Methodist parsonage from 1931 to 1953, and the present owners bought the inn in June 2021.
