The story
Walter Reid built the shingled summer hotel and opened it as Seguinland in June 1904. Reid later gave the land that became Reid State Park nearby. Wikipedia calls the inn one of the finest surviving coastal hotels of its period in Maine, with a gambrel roof, two three-story turrets and a deep wraparound porch. Guest rooms are on the second and third floors, including four round turret rooms with ocean views.
