The story
The Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Company (Phelps Dodge) built the hotel between 1898 and 1902 to lodge investors and dignitaries visiting its Bisbee mine. It is often called Arizona’s longest continuously operated hotel. The hotel says its guests ranged from Theodore Roosevelt to John Wayne. In April 2024 it was listed for sale at $12.5 million as a 48-room hotel; no sale has been reported.
The ghost story
The hotel calls itself Arizona's most haunted hotel and says the spirits of Julia Lowell and a ghost child named Billy are said to roam its halls alongside spectral miners; it books Room 315 as the Julia Lowell room and Room 412 as 'Billy's Room'.
