The story

David Connor built the hotel in 1898 with 20 upstairs rooms rented on the European plan and a barroom and billiards below. Fire destroyed it twice before 1900; because Connor carried insurance he rebuilt quickly and reopened in August 1899, one of the first fully electrified buildings in Jerome. The rooms closed in 1931 as the mines declined, reopened as a cheap lodging in the 1960s-70s, and closed again in the 1980s over safety issues. The current owners added a fire escape, sprinklers and new wiring before reopening.
