The story
The hotel, originally the Junction House Hotel, stands at the corner of Gates and South Main Streets near the railroad depot. The present three-story building dates to 1924 and is marked by paired corner towers, one carrying a triple-face clock with colored glass faces. Its ground floor is lined with storefronts on both street facades. The 1980 National Register nomination lists it among the major commercial blocks anchoring the downtown.
