The story

The Dorset Inn anchors the north side of Dorset’s main intersection and dates to 1796. A first north ell with an enlarged dining room and guest rooms was added in 1900, the roof was raised in 1920, and a second ell for more rooms came around 1947. The 1985 National Register nomination counted about thirty guest rooms. Its owners bought Barrows House in 2012, and the two now operate together as the Inns of Dorset.
