The story
George B. Post’s Beaux Arts Cleveland Trust rotunda was completed in 1908, and Marcel Breuer’s tower, built as a multi-story addition to the bank, followed in 1971 as his only skyscraper. The tower stood vacant from 1996 until 2014 and survived a 2007 county plan to demolish it. Developers converted it into apartments and the Metropolitan hotel as part of The 9, while the rotunda became a Heinen’s grocery store in 2015.
