The story
The Mast Farm complex in Valle Crucis was listed on the National Register in 1972 as a well-preserved mountain farmstead. Its oldest building is a two-story log house built about 1812 as a dwelling and turned into a weaving house after the new farmhouse was finished in 1885. The farmhouse now holds guest rooms and the Valle Tavern restaurant, and the farm’s outbuildings serve as cottages and cabins.
